In the historic Sarmiento building, which is part of the Pontevedra museum, you can savour the creative yet more casual and affordable side of chef Xosé Torres Cannas’ cuisine, who is already riding a wave of success at his award-winning Michelin two-star Pepe Vieria restaurant in Raxó. In this restaurant, which boasts a terrace space, bar and semi-open kitchen visible from the spectacular dining room, his philosophy is encapsulated by a single quote inspired by Bruce Lee – “Be kitchen, my friend”, which is also part of the restaurant’s logo. The à la carte is a fun array of dishes combining strong technique and ingredients from Galicia and elsewhere, such as the crispy Galician veal empanadillas, pork and chicken gyozas, tacos etc.
